UFA funds 4-H clubs

The UFA has a long history of supporting Alberta youth. This is evident in their support of 4-H clubs, which provides lifelong leadership and learning skills to the youth in our communities. The UFA supports this grassroots growing and learning through our UFA Funds 4-H program. Over the years they have seen the positive and inspiring impact that 4-H Alberta brings to our communities and are proud to be able to help clubs and districts reach higher and achieve even more. In 2021, 4-H Alberta Clubs & Districts shared in almost $60,000 in club funding for projects and initiatives!

Calgary Co-op Supports Youth Group

Calgary Co-op has been giving back to the community since they were established in 1956. In addition to sponsoring a number of local groups and projects, Calgary Co-op have created space in a number of our food stores that can be used free of charge by community groups, including youth groups.

EQUS Education Scholarships

Since 1999, EQUS has been supporting young people through the EQUS Scholarship Program. The program recognizes the academic accomplishments of EQUS member-owners and their children, and assists these students with their post-secondary education pursuits. In 2021, four $1,500 scholarships were awarded to the top applicants. Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of an applicant’s accomplishments including academic, non-academic, volunteerism, and personal and community endeavours.

Multicultural Health Brokers Immigrant and Refugee Youth Initiative

The Immigrant and Refugee Youth Initiative from the Multicultural Health Brokers Cooperative supports a variety of programs, including the Immigrant Youth and Mental Health Program and the Multicultural Youth Mentorship and Leadership Program. The Immigrant Youth and Mental Health Program places an emphasis on addressing the social components of mental health, and provides culturally appropriate mental health support with a focus on out-of-school academic, cultural, social and recreational activities – including leadership training and activities. The Multicultural Youth Mentorship and Leadership Program links youth to mentors and nurtures youth leadership and skill-building through the arts, music, dance, recreation, sports, and social enterprise.

Alberta Central supports youth through the Credit Union Future Leader Scholarship

Alberta Central believes in supporting our member credit unions. By providing scholarships to children of Alberta credit union employees and Board Directors, they are helping to build future leaders and deepen understanding of the credit union system. Any child of a credit union employee or Board Director entering any year of a post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate program is welcome to apply. In 2021, Alberta Central offered five Credit Union Future Leader Scholarships valued at $4,000 each.

Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops Members Support Youth

Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops Ltd., like the ACCA, is an organization of organizations doing amazing things! One of their members - Ste. Anne Natural Gas Co-op Ltd. (SANG) - has a mission to sustain, be safe and take care of the community, as expressed by their involvement with The Kids with Cancer Society. Every year SANG hosts a Charity Golf event to raise funds for the charity - and have raised $50,000 in the past five years!

ACCA Co-op Youth Leadership Program

Forgive us for some self-promotion, but we’d be remiss to let Youth Week pass without promotion the Youth Leadership Program, which gives young people aged 11-18 a life-changing experience where they learn about co-operative values, connect with others, and develop their own skills and talents. We’re quite proud of the program, and would love to have you learn more about it!
